How to have a successful
Yard Sale.

Things you need to keep in mind when having a yard sale.

1. A couple weeks ahead of time,
gather all the stuff you
plan on selling.
2.
Sort it into different categories: Clothing, Toys,
Electronics, Household. You get the idea.
3. Put a
price sticker on each item. There is nothing more
aggravating to a yard sale shopper than unpriced items.
Many people don't want to ask how much it is. They want
to read the sticker.
4. When putting your items out for display, do so
neatly
and organized
as much as possible. Hang or fold the
clothing up according to size. Put all the toys on one table,
electronics on another, etc.
5. Have available
coffee and doughnuts or sodas and hot
dogs.
Buy a big pack and sell them for a couple bucks each.
Make money on more than just your unused items.  If you
have kids, let them help sell the food.

One last thing...a few days before the yard sale, put an
ad
in the local newspaper
. The night before, put up ads
around the neighborhood
that can be easily read while
driving by. Neon color construction paper works great.

Don't be afraid to
haggle. I have made many a sale that
way. Most importantly, be
friendly and sell that stuff!
